Denz Debayle

 

 

Denz, becoming adult and having ended his education in Burgundy (his father had entrusted him to his uncle during his departure for the Third Crusade), decides after his long absence to come back on the lands of his family.

 

He finds there his father’s castle in decline and they explain him that everything has been plundered. Remaining him nothing more of other than his honour, his exacerbated patriotism and his surname, Denz decides to follow the same way as his father by getting involved for the Frouth Crusade which must leave for the Holy Land where his fighter’s talents will serve a fair reason.

 

He always has had the impression that his father was not proud of him (that he considered he was too thin, not enough lively, often ill) and he wants to find him to prove that he became a combatant of value and so to show him that he is worthy of being one « of Bayle ».

 

He searches the recognition of his father.
